Interested in becoming a member of the Sue and Dick Levy Dog Park at Humane Society Silicon Valley? This seminar is the first step....
Have you ever wondered what your dog is “saying” to his buddies at the dog park? Unsure about whether mounting another dog is good or bad, or if that barking is an invitation to play or a warning to get away? Is she having a good time, or is she hiding behind you because she is a little too scared and would rather be at home? Getting a little closer to knowing the answers to these questions will help dog owners to keep their canine companions safe and happy in the dog park environment!
In this seminar, we will cover dog body language and how it helps us understand what our dogs emotional state might be while in the park (or anywhere), as well as learning about appropriate and inappropriate play styles and how to predict and avoid potential conflicts. We will also discuss techniques for better managing your dogs to keep them safe at the park. This will be presented in the form of lecture, pictures and video!
At the conclusion, we will be available to answer any questions you may have to assist in making a more educated decision as to whether the Sue and Dick Levy Dog Park at HSSV is the right environment for you and your canine companions.
Not looking to join the dog park at HSSV? This is still a wonderfully, informative seminar to help any dog owner keep their furry friends safer in social situations and ensure fun is had all around!!
