Picasso

Long road to recovery

Picasso (formerly Hercules) is a lab/pit bull/boxer mix puppy who was attacked by another dog in his household when he was less than 6 weeks old, and brought to HSSV. His face was so swollen we didn't know if he still had eyes, and we removed bone fragments from his jaw with surgery. Seven months of recovery and doggie training later, enter Stacy and Rodney, who had visited many shelters and searched on the web for their perfect dog. As soon as they met Picasso, they both agreed he was all theirs. At 67 pounds now, he still thinks he's a lap dog! He often gives "hugs" by leaning against them, and his favorite TV show is "The Dog Whisperer". They say that it's clear that Picasso received a lot of love and care from HSSV staff and volunteers because he's so great with people, other dogs, and kids.
