Lamber  From matted to magnificent Amber, a 9-year-old Poodle/Maltese mix, was rescued from another shelter by our HSSV staff. Her fur was so matted when she came to us that she couldn't even lift her tail to wag it, and she was blind in one eye. After 2 hours of shaving, we found a tiny little girl under all that fur. Despite her obvious neglect and poor physical condition, Amber had a fantastic personality: a balance of playful, affectionate and goofy. After our vet staff treated her ailments, she went into a foster home to recover, before finding her wonderful new home with Hon and Wes. Hon and Wes first saw Amber before her fur had been shaved, and they felt an immediate connection even though they could only see her eyes. They recently told us that Amber is a perfect addition to their family. They renamed her Lamber because, as her fur has grown out, she looks just like a little lamb! Each night, Lamber falls asleep listening to the sounds of ocean music with her new mom and dad. She's come such a long way from when we first saved her, and we just couldn't be happier or more thankful that we were there when she desperately needed a second chance. |
