Found Dog

Possilbe Lassie breed dog found on Oct. 12th, 11PM, at Cabrillo and Calabasas in Santa Clara. Overweight and looked injured. Not approachable.

11:00PM on October 12th I came home to find a dog sitting on my lawn. It was not approachable even with an offer of canned cat food. I have never seen this dog in our neighborhood before. We had such bad weather today which seemed to have affected the dog badly or it possibly was injured.
It didn't appear the dog could hear at all or see very well. He/she had a hard time getting up to leave when I was trying to invite it to come to me. When I got closer it did not bark or growl but walked away very slowly and very afraid of a stranger. I was afraid to approach it myself to see if there was a collar/tag.
I don't know for sure what breed it was but it was brown and beige with a long hair coat. It looked overweight (around 70lbs) and possibly elderly or injured.
I don't think it went very far before disappearing onto another property. It was very dark outside and hard to see so I could not get a picture before it disappeared.
